Our board is responsible for setting the strategy for Anglian Venture Holdings, approving significant strategic business acquisitions and overseeing the running of all the businesses.

Peter Simpson

Chairman of AVH and Group CEO

Peter has been Chief Executive of Anglian Water Group since October 2013; his previous roles include Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer of Anglian Water. He is co-chair of the Prince of Wales’s Corporate Leaders Group in the UK, run by the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership. The group provides a strong voice on the transition to a climate neutral, resource efficient, socially inclusive economy by 2050. He also works with Business in the Community as Chair of the Climate Adaptation Taskforce and Chair of the East of England Leadership Team, and sits on the Board of Trustees of WaterAid. Peter is a Chartered Water and Environmental Manager, a Chartered Scientist and a Chartered Environmentalist. In 2016 he was made an Honorary Fellow of the Society of the Environment, an Honorary Fellow of the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management, and Companion of the Chartered Management Institute. He holds an MBA from Warwick Business School. Peter was Chairman of Water UK from April 2012 to October 2013 and is a past President of the Institute of Water.

Lucy Darch

CEO, Wave

Lucy became CEO of the new joint venture company Wave in August 2017. Lucy is responsible for overseeing and guiding the leadership team of Wave to achieve its strategic objectives. Previously, Lucy was Managing Director of NWG Retail for two years, whereby she was responsible for leading the inception of the retail business for Northumbrian Water Group, as the non-household water market deregulated. Lucy qualified from Oxford Polytechnic with a 2:1 in Business Studies and Geography and has since also gained qualifications in Sales Promotion, Renewable Energy and Renewable Heat and is also a qualified Living Leader Coach.
